when i was 15 she awoke my love for musical theater. one friday afternoon she picked me up early from school drove us to the airport we boarded a 13 seater plane and flew to san francisco. we checked into our hotel which was the most amazing little boutique hotel i also have a secret love affair with boutique hotels. (the roosevelt in hollywood is a favorite) i felt like we were living in a different time until i looked down and remembered what is was wearing...my grungie ripped up jeans, my doc martins, my flowing boho shirt and my hair in a french braid. in case you didn't know i was THAT girl.
the next evening we go dressed up and she took me to see the phantom of the opera at the orpheum.
it was brilliant.
i am getting teary eyed right now as i'm typing this. opera is moving even when sung in a foreign language. you can feel what is going on through the emotion in the voices.
any way point is...
on saturday mom and i went to los angeles to see wicked at the pantages theater.
all dressed up and ready to go.
sorry about the quality i took this pic on my phone. i love it! i just wish it was clear.
we ate dinner at wood & vine.
sat outside around the fire place. it was fabulous.
pantages...
waiting for the show to start...
the ushers were all business. two seconds after i took this pic i got reprimanded.
