My brother is a HUSBAND!!!

I look at this and I can't help by cry.
I haven't been able to control myself for days.
I'm not even a crier.
I'm just so happy.

These aren't even half of the selfies on my phone…just a few of my favorites.

My boys adore their new Auntie!

These four have always had my heart.
There was a time, not too long ago the the five of us lived together.
That was fun.
The bodily noises were in full effect. DAILY!
I was the only girl.
I ran a lot back then. Ha!

I'm glad my Mr. is always by my side. I don't know what I'd do without him.

I always wanted a sister growing up…God heard my prayers.
I now have six.

Is it me or am i shrinking?

Do you ever have so many feelings that you can't put into words, and everything comes out weird and awkward? That's me today. I make jokes when that happens, but in all honesty i am over the moon for my brother.

Here's where this post will get deep. (You've been warned.) Our parents got divorced when I was 14 and he was 12. It was a hard time. He and I ended up so broken in so many ways. Through an infinite amount of prayer (on all of our parts) God is always faithful and redeems brokenness and I am grateful.

Sam is my brothers perfect match.

Everyone has asked over the past year if I liked her and my answer was always, "yes, she takes care  of him and deals with him in such a kind and calm fashion. She is everything i could of wished for and more. She was made for him." God is crazy good in that way. He gives us exactly what we need.

Scottish Wedding Blessing

May the blessing of light be on you - light without and light within. May the blessed sunlight shine on you like a great peat fire, so that stranger and friend may come and warm himself at it. And may light shine out of the two eyes of you, like a candle set in the window of a house, bidding the wanderer come in out of the storm. And may the blessing of the rain be on you, may it beat upon your Spirit and wash it fair and clean, and leave there a shining pool where the blue of Heaven shines, and sometimes a star. And may the blessing of the earth be on you, soft under your feet as you pass along the roads, soft under you as you lie out on it, tired at the end of day; and may it rest easy over you when, at last, you lie out under it. May it rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly; up and off and on its way to God. And now may the Lord bless you, and bless you kindly.
Amen.

fifteen years.

you guys.
i can't believe, that today,  i have been married to the man of my dreams for
FIFTEEN YEARS!

we we're married before digital photography took off,
so please enjoy these super *janky photos i took with my phone of photos from my wedding album.

to this day, my husband's smile melts me to my core.
i can be mad as a hornet and he flashes this gorgeousness and i'm can't remember what it was that had me so upset. it's a problem really.

if you have been reading my blog for any amount of time you know that my husband is greek.
we HAD a greek wedding with a mexican twist. think mariachi trio and greek dancing.
 AYE AYE AYE…OPA!
it was fun to say the least.

have you been to a greek wedding?
they are an hour and a half long on a good day. almost all standing. no one sits. ever.
at one point during the ceremony i looked over at my groom and sweat was pouring off his head.
i thought to myself "oh my gosh he's going to bail at any moment. OH GOD, please don't let him."
 he didn't.

thankyoujesus
to this day he says he wasn't nervous at all just hot.

here's a super tiny glimpse into my
my big fat greek wedding.

and to answer your question, yes we were spit on.
it's not really what you might think.
its more of a "pft" spit does not even come out of the mouth.
it's a superstition, done to ward of the "evil eye"
not religious by any means. i want to clarify that.
christians are not to be superstitious.
but, in many cultures old wives tales die hard.

the crowning.

you can read a more about what the "crowning" means and the rest of the ceremony
here for a super quick overview. here and here for the ceremony in its entirety.
it's really sweet.

in a greek wedding the priest does not say,
i now pronounce you husband and wife. you may kiss your bride.
but i'm kind of a brat and i made him add it.
but seriously. 18 year old me threw a fit. directed at a priest.
yikes.

our wedding party.
minus my rign bearer. whats with little boys? ha!
my little flower girl is almost 20. that's crazy.

that little tiny ring. had me at hello.

cheers to 100 more years!!!

you can read more about "us" here and here.
one of these days i really need to continue writing out our "fairy tale"

i got the funniest phone call this morning…
i carpool with a friend she drops the kids off in the morning and i pick them up.
on the way to school my youngest tells her.

"my mom and dad are going to dinner tonight for like four hours
because they're going to make out and stuff."

what the heck. way to spread our business boy.

babe. wanna make out?

i hope you all have a wonderful thursday!
oh and don't forget to
make out with your man. ha!

*janky = (adjective) inferior quality; held in low social regard; old and delapitaed; refers almost exclusively to inanimate material objects, not to people.

side note
janky is another word my sons taught me. i look the meaning of words my boys teach me up on urban dictionary. urban dictionary doesn't play games with the meanings. super straight forward. if a word has any offensive affiliation it'll be in the definition. and my boys will get into trouble for using it. does anyone else do this? please say yes.
