in 2006 my husband and i along with my father in law took our boys to greece so that they could meet their family. it was a magnificent trip. but what i stands out the most about that trip was not greece or family, but an article i read in the stack of magazines i brought along from the states while sitting on the beach watching the boys play in mediterranean.
the article was about the LRA and how every evening these poor little children in uganda had to leave their homes to sleep in a gym supported / run by the red cross because if they didn't they risked being captured and forced to kill, raped, or forced to watch the murder of their parents. only to come back to their villages in the morning not knowing if their families made it through the night.
my heart broke. it still breaks.
my heart broke. it still breaks.
i told my husband through sobs that i was getting on a plane right then and there to uganda. he smiled and said "someday love. some day."
you see at the time my boys were 5 & 7. however not a day has gone by that i haven't prayed for uganda and it's people especially the children. no child should have to go through that.
today i started seeing this video ALL OVER the internet.
please watch it.
