i've been a little grouchy, ho hum, bah humbug, lately.
reading this this morning was so good for me!

God sure is faithful in giving us what we need exactly when we need it.
i am so thankful!

Life's Lessons Thursdays

i feel like i have been a really bad steward of my time lately. i can tell you a million excuses as to why.{this week it was watching every episode of Downton Abbey} but what i have come to realize is that if it takes work i don't want to do it.

lame. i know.

the 365 days of his word challenge is near and dear to my heart. i wasn't a good steward of that either, but it's time for a change.
i really want to make the time and put forth the effort in my life each day to live in the word of God
i feel so much better when i do. facing the day with my armor is so much easier than not.
somehow even the gravest of situations seem manageable when actively spending time with the Lord.

i found some really cool quotes about reading the bible

The Bible is a book that has been read more and examined less than any book that ever existed.
~Thomas Paine

When you read God's word, you must constantly be saying to yourself. "It is talking to me, and about me."
~Soren Kierkegaard

Bible reading is an education in itself.
~Lord Tennyson

Reading the Bible without meditating on it
is like trying to eat without swallowing.
~Anonymous

all of these and the bible itself {of course}
got something stirring inside of me.

so, here is the deal.
on the first and third thursday of each month
i am going to host a link up called

lessons in life: what i learned from the bible.
the idea is for everyone to write a post about
1} what you read in the bible recently.
2} how it spoke to you.
3} how you applied it in your own life.
4} what you learned form it.

easy enough right?
it's on two times a month.
the first link up will be on March 1st.
i do hope you'll join me.

Never place a period
where God has placed a comma.
 God is still speaking.
~Gracie Allen

*side note* you do not have to be signed up for challenge 365 to participate.

365 days of His Word

a few weeks ago i wrote this post.
a few people sent me tweets or emails about it stating that they have always wanted to do it but haven't, or that they have done it and that it CAN be done. i bring this up only because i look at that giant book of HIS and immediately want to run for the hills it's so BIG. however, i could sit and read twilight for 7 days straight (i did sleep a little while i read it) in order to finish whole saga.
i know dumb right.

HAVE started reading HIS. word. i am following a 1 year plan.

a friend and i,  ~i won't name names
were tweeting & emailing about reading the word and holding each other accountable. during one of our email sessions i asked her what she thought of us doing a button that people can grab and put on their blogs as a daily reminder.
a PLEDGE if you will
a challenge
to pick up the book of life and read.
daily
she liked it. we discussed it and
and we decided to teamed up, so here we are.

we are each writing posts about this today.
(we can reach more friends this way)
 check out chelsea's here

all i ask is that you comment on this post when you take the button and let me know you did. that way there is a log of who has joined in this fun challenge and we can go back and check on each other and hold each other accountable. i don't want to be a time waster anymore. i want to live a joyful life living and breathing the word of our
 lord and savior jesus christ.

ARE YOU IN?
you know you want to join us.

come on grab the button (let me know you did) it's on my side bar.

*fine print*
i know this post is a little wonky, it's late and i'm tired. i just couldn't seem to get the wording just right. i am going to sleep on it. in the mean time i am posting it. so you can join in the
F.U.N.
I have had coffee and went to the gym and i am ready to add:

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness"
2 timothy 3:16

"Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law"
psalm 119:18

if you are interested... this is the program i am following. i copied and pasted it into word and adjusted the dates for "my year". chelsea is using an iphone app called YouVersion. However any plan works so long as your in HIS word,

i heard this song for the first time today.

lets read together!

my friend, (i'm not even going to call her a bloggy friend because she's more than that) jami is launching (today) a new weekly linky party called we encourage today so that we can encourage one another i.e. inspire with courage and spread hope.
today i encourage you all to go link up because
1) it's fun and
2) jami is the bomb
3) you will be encouraged. fo' sho'!

i have a question. how much time do you spend with GOD on a daily basis. for me, i know for a fact i don't give him enough time. my best time with HIM is when i am in the car.  silly me. i could tell you that i am just so busy being a mom and all that that encompasses but that would be a lie. i dilly dally ALOT. yep
I. AM.A.TIME.WASTER.
weather it be blogging, facebook(ing), or just sitting on my butt doing nothing.

I was think the other day. I have NEVER read the bible from start to finish. I'm really uneasy about this. My husband and i have started this adventure and stopped more than once. but i really think that it's high time we i get it together and do it.

i looked up programs on reading the bible in a year and i'm already discouraged. all the programs are set to start on January 1st. *see i always make excuses. i can just start now and adjust it to "my year" starting 8-9-11.
