i got suckered!

fine print: traditional greek dance music is at the bottom of this post. if you'd like to hear it first turn off the play list at the bottom of my blog then start the play list on this post. O.K. ;-D sorry to be difficult! xxo

have i mentioned that my husband is GREEK?

{via}
this is my father-in-law's village.(think the movie 300, sparta is about an hour away) it's heavenly.

~or~
that my children go to a Hellenic Academy a.k.a.
 GREEK SCHOOL?
i think i must have a time or to.

our annual church fundraiser a.k.a. the greek food festival is coming up in less than two months.
so, the children have been learning and practicing traditional greek dances. they are doing amazing they have learned so much in the past couple of week.

when the kids are practicing i could leave,  read, or play on the intranet but, i don't i join the kids and learn the dances with them. (i feel like if i show them i am interest they will stay interested.) my boys think i'm weird and annoying but, the other children think i'm cool.... maybe i'm just wishful thinking MKAY!

~here's where i get suckered~
last night while i we were practicing some of the children
(not mine) came to me and said: "you have to dance with us at the festival, if you don't we won't dance."

of course i told them: "NO, i am not going to dance this your thing not mine. i'm just here to support you and cheer you on."

that didn't go over well,  they begged and pleaded and before i knew what had happened i agreed to join them at the festival.

so, come september you'll probably find me in something like this:

^these are traditional costumes. Yes, the short skirts are for the dudes^

^or maybe something a little more modern^

^my boys will most likely be in something like this^
OPA
*also my dudes start football practice on monday. football season is my favorite time of year. i am super duper excited.
WHO ARE WE??? QUAKES
WHAT DO WE DO??? DOMINATE
gotta love it.

actually i LOVE anything that my kids do.

i'm their biggest
 fan

Maybe you need to do a tutorial on your fancy footwork for the rest of us! : ) Have fun and enjoy the fact that you are the cool mom who joins in on the fun.

so cool. i wish my husband were greek. then i'd most DEFINITELY be getting myself to santorini and mykonos and the like pretty soon. i think i will either way but i mean, it'd be a must if he were greek.

I want to go to Greece SO SO SOOOOO bad. Your post is not helping my obsession. Also I really want my girls to play football. Like bad. I don't think it's going to work out for me.

Heeeeeey, those skirts are great! ;0) Seriously, though, how cool that you are teaching your kids all about their ancestors! And I think it's great that you're dancing with them. You kiddos may not be so into it now, but when they get older they'll appreciate all the quality time you spent with them!
