last night (thursday) we went to church for the service of the
"HOLY PASSION of our Lord Jesus Christ" we read 12 gospel readings
they are called the 12 passion gospel's. they are as follows:
1. St. John 13:31 thru Ch. 18:1 Judas leaves the last supper to betray Jesus, and Jesus predicts Peter's denial
2. St. John 18:1-29 Jesus is betrayed and arrested.
3. St. Matthew 26:57-75 Jesus is brought before the council.
4. St. John 18:28 thru Ch. 19:16 Jesus' trial before Pilate
5. St. Matthew 27:3-32 more about the trial and the jews choosing to let Barabbas be released and Jesus put to death
6. St. Mark 15:16-32 the soliders mock Jesus: dress him in purple and put the crown of thorns on his head.
7. St. Matthew 27:33-54 the crucifixion and death
8. St. Luke 23:32-49 the roman officer realizes that Jesus is the son of God
9. St. John 19:38-42 the burial
10. St. Mark 15:43-47 the burial
11. St. John 19:38-42 the burial
12. St. Matthew 27:62-66 the guard at the tomb
this is a long service.(roughly 2 1/2 hours) but it gets you to a place mentally where you really comprehend what Jesus went through to save us from our sins.
he suffered

i. am. in. awe.
i know it. but to read it. to hear it... WOW it was such a powerful reminder.
he died for US
i mean... he loves us so much that he died for US
AWE
i know it but when you really think about it...
i love you Jesus
should i ever complain about going to church on sunday because i'm just too tired.
or that i just don't feel like doing my devotions for the day because what will it matter if i miss just one day or maybe two.
or when i'm in a bad mood i want you to just leave
alone so i can fester in my bad mood and to heck with anyone who tries to talk to help.
UMM NO!!!
What Would Jesus Do???
maybe i need a wwjd bracelet to wear daily to remind to think about that.
we use our hands for everything surely i would see it throughout the day
and keep the thought in my head.
right!!!???
while at the service listening to how jesus' last day went down, i can't help but wonder what his mother must have been feeling. to know from the time of her child's birth conception how his life was going to end and actually be there to witness it and not being able to do anything about it because that's what was supposed to happen. Ahhhhhhh...... my heart aches for her. it kills me. what strength she must of had.
she trusted and loved the lord so much to endure that kind of pain. Ahhhhhh...
being a mother i have so much empathy for Mary.
i came a cross this poem this week and wanted to share it.
Mother, do not weep.
I have been your child, and am;
Your arms, my ever cradle,
Your song, my calm and voice.
The sun, the sun that sets your eyes
Is darkened by these tears.
Mother, do not weep.
I have known your scent
And you mine—
My walk, my every step;
All my love I have found in you,
Your heart from before my birth
My heart, my ear, my love.
Mother, do not weep for me.
Take the moon and sun,
The stars and all the nursery
In which you raised me up to mine:
Set them beneath your feet—
Stand tall.
Let not fear entwine
Its viper’s breath amongst your toes.
Do not, do not weep.
If tears must fall, let them be sweet
And sweeten the ground
Where I rest.
Mother, I rest
And make my work.
Weep not for my sleeping.
The night be black,
Yet sleep is but for the instant,
The moment, and day will come.
The day your love has wrought
Will come.
Mother, do not weep.

What a beautiful poem - sounds like a lovely service too!
Wow. This entire post just blew me away. Completely beautiful friend
Me too! I am in AWE!! Overwhelmed with how much He loves me! We went to an Easter play last night and the cross scene was brutal, I can't even believe what He went through for me. The best part of the play was the end when tons of people came forward to accept Jesus as their personal Savior! I was amazed. Praise God that we have such an amazing God to praise!
AMEN!
what a fresh perspective. beautiful words!
