He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

having just come off the high of easter, and pondering what the lord has done for me. i don't want to lose the feeling of AWE... i am afraid that i already have. Grrr! i feel like life get so complicated and ugly and it's hard... i mean really hard.
last night i was in a really bad mood. my kids knew it. it was not their fault but they didn't help in the matter. son #1 wants to always be on the phone with his "friend" who is a girl, double grr!! and i'm talking always on the phone triple grr!!! son #2 demands attention all.the.time. if he calls on you once and you don't answer immediately he get so upset. i wanted them to eat dinner and they were not coming. i got mad. and son 1 said he didn't want to eat dinner with me.
i wanted to die. i mean like die of heart break. am i an awful mother. then to top it off hubs had to work O.T last night so the boys decided they wanted to sleep in my bed because they were hearing noises. UMM O.K. so i let them at this point it was already 11p.m. (last week was busy with a lot of late nights they both took naps yesterday afternoon and couldn't sleep due to our messed up schedule... quadruple grr!!!!) and they really thought because they both took naps that i was going to let them watch t.v. so everything went bad in .00001 seconds. i'd just got done reading my bible and milliseconds later i had already forgotten what i had JUST read.
when i woke up this morning this is the first blog post i read. isn't it amazing how the Lord knows just what you need when you need it most. jami's words really spoke to my heart. thanks girl! i will so light up my eyes for them.
our priest once told me that God gives us babies so that we can grow together and that babies wont remember the mistakes we've made. because God is that merciful. Umm my boys aren't exactly babies anymore. here's to praying they will forgive me and that i will not have scared them for all eternity.
hoping everyone has a super blessed day!

Just remember God is bigger than all our "grrrs". you are doing the hardest job in the world and He has prepared you for it. Sometimes we just need a reminder to lean on Him for the grace we need to parent well. you are a great momma, hang in there friend!
My love, don't worry about the boys; God's grace is enough.
Continue to look to Him for direction, He is faithful.
amen that God's grace is enough.
love to you sweet friend.
Thank you for posting the beatitudes, I really needed to read this...we all (ME) have grrr moments. I have had some myself today. Thank God we worship a king who gave his son to pay the price for all our Grrr moments. This week at church our pastor was teaching from Hebrews 10 and he talked about how God chose to forgive and FORGET all our sins. I really love that...how much he loves us even in our Grrr moments...don't get down on yourself, I think you rock!!
the fact that you're even able to write out your mistakes and short comings for the world to see shows how much you understand the grace that has been freely given to you. you're an example! thanks for sharing :)
